A Daily for the Fieldhouse

The Fever Vault is a daily Indiana Fever newspaper run by a fan in Troy, Michigan. It is not affiliated with the team, the league, or any official outlet. It exists because a Brit who fell for Caitlin Clark's basketball wanted a paper that read the way the WNBA sounds in 2026 — bold, joyful, attention-aware, Black and brilliant and finally seen.

Every morning the paper pulls fresh headlines from a curated set of RSS sources (Yardbarker's team feed, Yahoo Sports' WNBA wire, Swish Appeal, Winsidr, HoopFeed, Google News, Fieldhouse Files, the Indiana Fever Report). Anything paywalled — IndyStar, The Athletic, the Gannett network — gets filtered out at ingest so every link a reader clicks is something they can actually read.

The daily Lead column at the top of the front page is written by Anthropic's Claude Sonnet model, grounded in the morning's actual wire. The system is built to refuse fabrication: every claim in the column has to trace to a wire item, the column has a hard sentinel for “wire is quiet” mornings, and the protagonist rotates by what the wire is actually about.

Photos come from Wikipedia Commons under permissive licenses (CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC0, US public domain) with credit baked into every image caption. Box scores and standings come from balldontlie's WNBA API. The wire refreshes hourly, the Lead column refreshes daily.

The sibling paper is The Pistons Vault — same shape, different team, built for Jackie. The Fever Vault is for the WNBA and for me.
